what is concept of centripetal force and define centripetal acceleration

centripetal acceleration

Centripetal Force

The force needed to bend normally straight path of particle into circular path is called centripetal
                     force.It is denoted by Fc.

Centripetal force formula
                                               centripetal force formula
It is also known as inward force or center seeking force.
Explanation

Consider a ball whirled in a horizontal circle as figure. If the snapped then ball will not continuous

to move in circle. If it was at any point then it will follow the path along tangent to the circle.
it means some force is needed to keep the body moving in a circular path. This force is called centripetal force. It always directed toward s the center of the circle.
Examples of centripetal force
      (1)   A planet moving around the sun.
         (2)   Motion of nuclear particles.

Define centripetal acceleration

The instantaneous acceleration of an body travelling with inform speed in a circle is directed toward the center of the circle and called centripetal acceleration.
Explanation
If a body moves in a circle with constant speed the magnitude of velocity remains (same) constant but its direction changes continuously.Due to this change in velocity the body must have an acceleration directed towards the center of circle.such acceleration is called centripetal acceleration.
